  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup ice water
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Haitian epis
  • 1 egg, beaten (for wash)

Instructions

  1. Make the dough. Cut cold butter into flour and salt until crumbly, add ice water, and form a dough. Chill 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the filling. Brown the ground beef with epis until fragrant and fully cooked. Cool.
  3. Assemble. Roll dough thin, cut into squares, add filling, fold, and seal the edges with a fork.
  4. Bake. Brush with egg wash and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25–30 minutes until deep golden.
